In February 2011 Google updated its algorithm in order to fight spammy and ‘thin’ sites.

The Situation

The update caused an immediate drop in sessions of 80% for the client. By the middle of May we were hired to recover the lost session.

What We Did

We started with a comprehensive audit of the client’s site to identify the drawbacks and areas for improvements. The audit was followed by monthly task lists for the client to implement the corrections and optimizations in the most cost-effective manner. The next steps involved general consultancy on SEO copywriting.

The Results

Improvements in sessions increased steadily during the next weeks, and by mid December we had increased the sessions by  199%.
